a journey to the desert
barren and desolate
I will spread my wings and fly away
to get above it
journeying to Phoenix
I fly through the sky
feel the first of the flames
as I begin to die
on the streets of Phoenix
where I am laid to rest
my mind becomes an ember
and flames rip through my chest
and fly to the sun
the phoenix must burn- the phoenix is me
no crisis comes without opportunity
I’m burning alive I’m losing my body
after I die, I’ll fly in harmony
above the desert sands I see the fire on my wings
burning up below me lost in all these different things
I can feel the heat though I’m so far from the sun
it’s time to choose: I cannot serve God AND Mammon
only one
the phoenix must burn- the phoenix is me
no crisis comes without opportunity
I’m burning alive I’m losing my body
after I die, I’ll fly in
harmony
and balance
duality
and atom dance
we all have a chance
we all will burn
